Fron Heulog has a double bedroom on the first floor with private modern bathroom facilities which has a corner  bath and a separate shower. The twin bedroom on the second floor  has an ensuite shower room and room for a chairbed. Both bedrooms  have a colour television and tea and coffee facilities.

We offer special price packages for family group bookings. Guests are welcome to use the lounge a spacious comfortable room. It has a colour television with a DVD player , and a book case of varied books in both Welsh and English. Or if you prefer you can relax in the conservatory and look out at the Aran mountain range.
Guests can have access to the kitchen for picnic preparation, and are welcome to bring take away meals and use the dining room facilities.

Fron Heulog is a town house situated a few minutes away from the centre of  the market town of Bala. Within minutes you can be enjoying country trails that families can enjoy exploring to walks that are more suitable for individual experienced walkers.
This is an ideal centre for visiting North, West and Mid Wales. You can visit locations within Snowdonia, which include Blue Flag Beaches, Castles, Slate Mines, beautiful lakes, the fascinating Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT), waterfalls, and spectacular mountain scenery including Snowdon Mountain itself, and lots more. The Snowdon Mountain range offers ramblers walks, climbing, and a train that will take you to the top of this highest Mountain in Wales (the second highest in Britain). Weather permitting the summit offers a breath taking view of much of North Wales and it has a brand new cafe for refreshments before your descent.

All of this is within an hours drive through spectacular scenic routes you will never forget!

Your hosts, Dorothi and Robin Evans’ first language is Welsh and we can offer learners of the Welsh language encouragement and support by giving them an opportunity to practice their newly acquired skills. Welsh is a beautiful ancient language and we find guests love to have a go at some of the everyday words and unfamiliar sounds, like the double “LL’s” The language is also a very musical language and the Welsh people are famous for their singing. In fact Wales is known as “Gwlad y Gan” or “Land of Song” and there is a famous male voice choir located quite close to us in the village of Llanuwchllyn, at the head of the lake. Their practice night is on Thursdays and visitors are welcome to listen to the lovely music. You will also find concerts to go to and lots of local country shows in the spring and summer months. Here you will see all the country skills being demonstrated or competed at as well as fine livestock and agriculture competitions, handicrafts etc.

Bala is a lively small market town beautifully located within the Snowdonia National Park, at the head of its famous lake, Llyn Tegid (Llyn is Welsh for lake) the largest natural lake in Wales, and offers the visitor a wealth of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants and a famous historic “Town Walk” (leaflets from Tourist Information Office on lake foreshore). One of the most famous people in history, from Bala area, was Mary Jones who walked barefoot for miles to Bala for a Bible written in Welsh (commemorated by a plaque over the Barclays Bank). Bala’s locality offers visitors various outdoor activities, many being water-linked. The local Canoeing Centre offers an opportunity to book a white-water rafting experience!, and people do book to go again!.
The Bala Lake Sailing Club has a waterborne centre and tuition can be had at the highest international standards, whilst the River Dee is famous for fly fishing. The Lake itself is the largest natural lake in Wales, and a narrow-gauge steam train runs along side of the lake. The Tourist information Centre is situated by the lake shore, and details of everything that a visitor needs to know can be obtained there. Next door to the information centre is the local leisure complex which offers activities for the whole family, an ideal option for those not so sunny days.
